Well....the time has come

Here I am guys and gals....a little embarrassed and a little relieved.  I kept hearing about "snip snip" happening.  I wasn't really convinced it would ever happen or that they would actually go through with it .....but yesterday was the day.  I even had to stay over night at the vet hospital....imagine!  How dare they take me away from my family.

Today, "he" came to get me and I was soooo happy!  Finally going home to my own place.  Molly obviously thought I was gone for good and settled into the idea cause she kept growling at me when I got home.  I guess it's payback for me doing it to her when she had her operation.

Anyway, I'm confined to the kitchen....I hate the cone.....and to top it all off they called to say I have a parasite :(  Whomp...whomp....whomp.  I guess it's good they found it now.  So I go back for a check up next Monday and hopefully this dumb cone can be garbaged too!

Here I am....try not to laugh.

We are not lost....

....we're just enjoying our summer vacation!  Hope everyone is having a great summer so far.  We have been busy little Scotties.  Every weekend we head north of the city to our little piece of heaven.  Our peeps bought a small piece of property and are planning on building a little cottage for us all.

Sometimes during the week we get to go with "him" and one of the kid-lets.  "He" does lots of work preparing and getting stuff done.

We have been very good doggies lately.  You see....we get a little crazy when we head north.  By the time we get there and jump out of the truck we are SO excited to be there.  There's lots of running, chasing and of course sleeping.  But....our freedom comes at a high price.  After going on a few adventures (i.e. running down the road) they had the nerve to buy this thingie....it's called an electric fence.  Well for all of our peeps who have never experienced this before....let us be the first to warn you that it hurts and it works.  We don't run anywhere!!!  Except for around wherever the fence is not.  Believe us....there's a tonne of room to run and play.

We've even been trusted to stay and guard our property while they run to town.  Trust us when we tell you.....we don't budge.  We're usually quite tired and spend most of it sleeping.  And by "we" I mean me....Angus.  I sleep and Molly guards.  I pretend to guard them but don't be fooled.  I let Molly look after that kinda stuff.

Here I am before we got our fence and we had to be tied on.  What have you been up to this summer??

Scottie Advice....

Hi All,

This is Angus and Molly's peep here.  We have a few questions for all you Scottie owners out there....especially those who have more than one which includes a male.  We've been talking about having Angus "fixed", however due to our schedules and the length of recovery time for him, we haven't been able to get it done.  Over the last month or so, we've noticed he seems to be more and more aggressive.  As in....anything he looks at "Angus owns".  If we're playing with Molly, he will attack her as if to say "I own them get lost".  It starts out as their bitey face fight but quickly turns to him biting her.

We have always given them equal play time and they've always been together...they're brother and sister and we brought them home at the same time.

If we have them out for a drive, it's usually calm and they enjoy it....but if she looks at him the wrong way it's game over.

The humourous part (if there is one) is that he's smaller than she is.  She's taller and leaner....he's got the typical short legs and muscular body.  Yet he seems to dominate.  We are hoping that if we take him out of the gene pool (har har), it will help with his behaviour.  Any other suggestions or thoughts?  Is this something anyone else has dealt with??

We look forward to your responses.

Sincerely,
Amanda & Ray

Some doggy....

Hey Down Under Daisy....guess what??  Some doggy lives in our house too!!!  Our peeps couldn't find out what the weird smell was coming from the basement.  After searching and finding nothing, "she" accidentally found a stash by the back door.  Some doggy...drug their cans of strawberry coolers to the back of the house...AND....some doggy must have been watching "him" clean out the cooler from the weekend.

Some doggy actually CHEWED threw the can and drank some of the tasty beverage.  Do you know who some doggy is?  We sure as heck can't figure it out.  Why are they looking at us with angry faces??  Why are they mad that some pink juice spilled on our mat??  I get the feeling we're in trouble but we didn't do anything wrong.

Here is the evidence:

Long weekend = a lot of fun!

Hi Everyone,

We're back with more adventures to share.  This past weekend was the Victoria Day long weekend here in Canada and boy did we have a blast.  We headed out of the city on Saturday and didn't get back until Monday.  After a long drive, we finally made it to our destination...or as I like to call it "paradise!".  We went for boat rides, saw some more fish and then the boat stopped at an island.  We all got out and played in the water for awhile.  Molly likes to try and eat the waves....I'm not a big fan just yet.  I will get my paws wet....but that's about it.  When the sun is hot, I'll do anything to cool down...but don't kid yourselves...I'm not a fan of having a wet face...so I had to rub myself all over big rocks trying to get dry.

Then the big guy made them a fire to roast some wieners for lunch.  It was utter awesomeness!  We ran, jumped, played....and saw a ton of wildlife including a snake!    It was a water snake and is not poisonous...thank dog!  We didn't care though...we wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

All in all it was one totally awesome weekend!

Our peeps have figured out how to tire us out....and man we were exhausted at the end of every day.  There was utter silence at our motel room because all we could do was flop on the floor and sleep.  We didn't even need to be tied up for the night......there was no way we were moving.

Total wildlife seen on this trip:  geese and their babies, fish, turtles, a bear (more on that later), a snake, a fox, a groundhog.....and a pink buoy which we barked our heads off at.  We swear that thing was real!!!!

The big guy.....the tiny human and us checking out the snake.  That's Angus with his man servant....and I stay close to my tiny human.

Tired Angus after a long day of playing and having fun.

A weekend of fun....

Another update on our whirlwind adventures....we went for a loooooong drive this past weekend.  I love the truck.....and I mean LOVE it.  Molly on the other hand is not a big fan.  As in...she plants her paws way before the door and won't budge.  I jump up happy to be alive!  Afterall, we are two Scotties living the dream right??

The peeps got us up real early and we headed "north"...whatever that means.  Well let me tell you...it was awesome!!!  We stopped for pee breaks along the way and then met some family members we'd never seen before.  Dad went and got out his boat....and him and his other half cleaned it all out for another year.  We're not sure what that entails but we're liking where this is going.

After a long wait we went for our first boat ride!  Molly loves to lay on the bench and I snuggled up to my peep checking out the scene around us while "she" held on to me.  It was the best day ever!  We even got to go fishing which is totally new for us.  And "she" reeled in a big lake trout.  The sad news is we couldn't keep it....the season doesn't open until June.

BUT....we are SO excited about what the summer will hold for us.  There's just so much to see and sniff!

Tootles!

Fun At The Dog Park

Hey Guys & Gals,

Guess what we got to do last weekend?  We went to our very first ever dog park!  Actually...we went to 2 dog parks with some adventure in between.  You see, we don't tend to play well with other dogs.  Call us crazy but there's just something about them that makes us want to bite their face off (nothing personal).  It doesn't matter the size or what type of dog....in fact the bigger it is the bigger I feel really.  Our peeps took us to the 1st dog park only to leave and before we knew it we were at the pet store.  YES!....toys and treats for us!..yahoo!....except we didn't get any new toys or treats.....we ended up with brand new.....muzzles.  What the??  We've been threatened before but never thought it would actually happen.

Off to dog park # 2 with muzzles on.  Geez...it's hard to bite a German Shepherd's face off when you can't open your mouth!  After we behaved like "normal" dogs, they took them off and boy did we have fun!  We ran...drank some water....ran some more.  Who knew dog parks could be so awesome.  There were no fights between Molly and I when we got home....no bitey face...no running around.  Just sleep....good ol' precious passed out on the floor...sleep.  We could barely move we were so tired.

Here's some pics of our adventure...at dog park #2.  Enjoy!

One cool mat!

It's Monday again and that really means squat to us poochies.  The days really all mesh into one somedays and we're just happy to be along for the ride.

A couple of weeks ago our peeps headed off to the Cottage Show in Toronto and boy did they come home with a mitt-ful of information on all kinds of stuff.  The coolest thing they bought us was a new mat. Now I know it doesn't sound interesting now....but they watched the demo and were hooked.  All these other dog owners were lined up saying "I bought one last year and I swear by it".  You see...the mat is made of a special material that absorbs water and helps trap sand, mud, dirt...you get the idea.

All we do is step on it....jump up and down (you know the usual greeting when coming in from playing in the backyard) and poof...our paws are clean.  No mess on the carpet which makes the peeps very happy.  A couple in a little town called Port Carling, Ontario came up with this idea and we think they're genius.   The mat is so awesome it goes in any kinda washing machine when its really dirty and then in the dryer on a low heat.  Our peeps hang it outside to dry because it's super absorbant.

In case you want to see what the fuss is about have your peeps go to:  http://www.amazingmat.ca/

They bought us the large one cause there's 2 of us....but they want another just cause it's so awesome.

Hope you are having a good week so far :)

Angus and Molly

(Edited to add:  We were not coerced, persuaded, begged or asked to promote this product.  We just think it's awesome and like to support our local creative geniuses....teehehehe.)

Here's some photos of us playing in the backyard with the bubbles....again :)

Bubbles....I love me some bubbles

Happy Saturday!

So this week the tiny human had these fun round thingies called "bubbles".  Have you peeps seen these before?  I love the tiny human :)

Molly loves the tiny human the most....she listens to her...."sits and stays" when she tells her to and loves to lay on the sofa with her.  I prefer any of the humans to be honest....they think I have separation anxiety....BOL.  They can't go anywhere without me being at their heels....and if the big guy goes up or downstairs without me, I just sit and whine.  I mean...I don't know where he goes...maybe he left the house without me....but I can't bear to think about it.

Here are some photos of the bubble event.  Molly likes to jump in the air and eat them....I'm not as tall so I wait until they get closer to the ground before I get my share.  Check out the holes we've dug :)

Happy Easter & Stuff

Hey Y'all,
Happy Belated Easter!

Word on the street is that a bunny was in our house this weekend.  Let me tell you....if he was then we'd sure as heck have killed the bugger.  You see....we have issues....yep...there I said it.  "Hi my name is Angus and I'm here to tell you that we have "Scottie issues".  You know what I'm talking about right guys?  There are certain things that just drive us terriers ca-razy!....squirrels, birds, rabbits.  Heck we've even had a hard time with a cheetah on that thing on the wall (they call it a tv).  Yeah well...cheetah's, horses and any animal really...we bark at it but it just walks away.  Why is that?  Shouldn't it bark or whatever back at us?

We had a lovely Easter with our peeps and enjoyed some great weather.  We took "them" for a couple of walks and it tires us out.  Not so much bitey face when you have no energy to do anything but nap. Speaking of napping...Molly prefers the top of the sofa while I am partial to the floor.  We got new cushy beds for Easter and the Easter bunny left us each a new bunny toy.  We think he's taunting us.  BOL!  Molly's is still in tact but mine....it has seen better days.  Less than 24 hours and the poor thing is deader than dead.

Anyway....the week has started off with some grooming.  We hope you enjoy our newer photos :)  The first one shows the two of us before dinner....and the second is just Molly.

Angus

P.S.  Pay no attention to the wrong date on the pictures....it's WAY past 2008 :)

We're back!

Hey Everyone....so sorry we haven't been around lately.  Life sometimes gets in the way of the fun stuff.  Not that we haven't been up to fun stuff....oh let me tell you....we have :)  But our "assistant" has been busy and we've had to suffer along with you.

We mentioned a while back that "he" is a hockey coach.  Well...we're happy to report that hockey is finally coming to a close for another season and ended on a great note.  Yay....more time for us to be posting here!

We've had some really warm weather here in Ontario....it's been an odd winter all around.  So what have we been enjoying? Digging.  Let's talk about the Scottie's need to dig.  Actually it's a "dog thing" in general but us Scotties we like to seek and destroy.  Keeping in mind there are two of us...so what one does...the other must follow.  Our peeps now have to re-sod their back yard....and the other day "he" laid big logs in our way of getting to where their garden normally goes.  Do you think "they're" trying to tell us something?  We take great pride in destroying the backyard.  There are random holes where we like to just dig.  It isn't always fun because we get carted off to the sink for a wash.  That mud really can pack in to our paws nicely.  :)

What have you all been up too??  Anyone getting out there and having a paw-dicure?

We've been tagged!

Good Morning Everyone,
Our buddies Sweet William & Stuart tagged us so here goes:
1) Describe yourself in 7 words: loyal, mischievous, lovable, irritating, curious, stubborn and territorial.
2) What keeps you up at night? These days....nothing!  We now sleep in separate crates and we're good at sleeping through the night.  But if anything bugs us....it's the thought of the other stealing our favorite toy....or noises outside.
3) Who would you like to be? Hmmm....a king and queen....oh wait we already strive for those titles :)
4) What are you wearing now? Nothing but a collar and a smile :)
5) What scares you? We are funny creatures.  Angus used to be afraid of paper towel rolls and Molly has never been scared of anything.
6) What's the best and worst things about Blogging? We'd say the worst thing is trying to remember to blog.  Our peeps are busy with lots of stuff so they aren't always able to get on the computer.  The best part is getting to know all of you. We love to read all about our blogging friends!
7) What's the last Blog you visited? Douglas...and we feel sorry for his tummy problems.
8) What's one thing you would change about yourself? For Molly she would change the fact that she is very territorial at times.  She's not like normal dogs....she marches to the beat of her own tune.  Angus likes to show off...he needs to share more of his things with me.  He always steals what I'm playing with and makes a pile of toys around himself.  Plus this weekend he's destroyed 3 of our toys!
9) Slankets? No....none for us.
10) Tell us something about the person who tagged you. We were tagged by Sweet William The Scott & Stuart of The Scottie Chronicles.  Sweet William seems like such a sweet puppy dog and we like reading about what he's up to.  His glasses make him look cool :)  As for Stuart....what can we say....the guy's awesome with a capital 'A'.  I mean...it's not often you see a Scottie with so much white....we think it makes him stand out more...a bit more refined if you will.  Our peeps love reading about him and his trips around the world....BOL.  His face is everywhere....we hope to be popular like him one day :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi Everyone!  Well "they" finally believe I look like a Scottie now :)  Went for my first haircut yesterday and it was not pleasant.  I was so disgusted with "him" that I wouldn't even look at "him" when it was time to go or on the drive home.  Imagine....I got left there, then shaved but you can't tame this girl.  My backside leaves something to be desired....but I guess I'll have to get used to it eventually.  Next time Angus will come with me.  I didn't make a peep either....not like the whiner who cried the whole time he was there.

So now it's funny cuz they sometimes can't tell Angus and me apart.  I must say, I feel like I lost 5 lbs. now that the hair is gone and I can see properly.

Hope you are all enjoying the day so far :)

Molly the tiny gorilla....hahaha

So here's a before shot of me.....a little hairball.  I am headed to the groomers this week after I get my stitches taken out.  "They" think it's funny when I stand next to Angus because he's not as hairy anymore and I....I have the weirdest hair ever.  It's sort of curly and grows in all different directions. I am so happy to have that cone off.  My peeps felt bad so they watch me like a hawk and I'm a good girl....I don't bother with the stitches at all.

Hmmm....what else can I tell you guys.  Some fun facts about me....I now weigh 22 lbs., I am much taller than Angus.  In fact "they" find it hard to believe we're siblings.  I tower over him and jump like I'm a monkey.  I like to crawl across the top of the sofa whenever Angus is busy with something else.  I'm not a sock fan, but I'll eat just about anything....sticks, dirt, leftover plants.  I'm usually the tough one, but I'm at constant battle with Angus over toys.  He steals whatever I touch.  And don't get me started on my food dish.  If he goes near it, rest assured there is a full on fight.  He does the same to me over his dish so it's only fair I defend my own.  I'm not a cuddler either....that's the whiner.  He loves to be laying on them, next to them or just rest his head on their feet.  I only like laying next to them some of the time, but I'm a big girl now....I much prefer doing my own thing.

Hope you are all having a good weekend :)

It's Groundhog Day...

And since I don't know what the heck a groundhog is here's another photo of me :)  So this week "he" was at those darn kitchen renos again.  This time it was new counter top, sink and faucet.  Seeing as I'm a professional foreman....I decided to oversee this project and when I got bored I just laid my head on his foot to take a little break.  You know...cause I'm Angus and let's face it....I may be a boy but I'm also the worlds biggest baby.  Like...I can't stand it when I'm alone...I whine or whimper.  If they take Molly outside to pee and I'm left upstairs....I cry.  Even when I got my haircut the other day I whined the entire time "he" was gone.  Sometimes a dog worries if his favorite peeps are coming back to get him.

This week I've been a little destructive with my toys.  As in....I've killed 4 toys in 2 days.  I ate the ear off my elephant, I killed the ducky (finally), chewed the end of a rubber bone which is supposed to be indestructible, and I ripped the stuffing out of another.  I've also taken a recent liking to socks.  When I go downstairs to be let outside....I like to make it there before anyone and grab a sock by the washing machine.  Most times they catch me but I've been successful at running outside with one to chew.  Clean or dirty sock...it doesn't matter to me.

Anyway, "he" finally found a toy that I can't destroy.  Which is code for "Angus stole a piece of PVC and I found him in the living-room with it".  What can I say....I'm one crafty Scottie :)

Handsome Angus

Hey Everyone!  Today I got my first ever hair cut.  Check out my new look :)  Mom thinks I look like Douglas....hehehe.  Our groomer gives us these cool bandana's after each visit.  I feel a little chilly but otherwise, I'm pretty impressed with myself.  Once Molly is feeling better and has her stitches taken out then she gets to go to the groomer too.

So....what do ya think?

What just happened??

Hello my blog furiends.  I am so embarrassed by this photo.....the cone of shame.....there I said it.  I had a dog-peration this week so that I cannot have puppies.  It wasn't so bad....I may be a girl but I'm tough like a boy.  All went well and can you believe I was left there all day long?  Apparently the dogter told them I had to be monitored before I could leave.  I was definitely happy to be rip roarin' out of there and home to my own pen.  The only thing that I hate is not being able to play with Angus.  Not allowed outside with him....can't wrestle or run around.  Ugh....this cone thing is for the birds!  My peeps are puzzled....everything they've read says adult Scotties should be up to 22 lbs.  Well guess what??....I weigh a whopping 20.5 lbs and I'm only 5 months old.  Angus weighs in at a mere 18.5 lbs.  We're fit as a fiddle and healthy.....nothing but muscle on these poochies.  Even our dogter says we're fine.  Any of our other Scotty furiends defy the weight thing?

Later dudes....this girls gotta get her beauty sleep :)

Sunday Tails

Ya know....I think Sunday's are a good day to be lazy.  It's sort of sunny outside today so Angus and I have spent the better part of the morning outside running around.  We've taken a liking to ripping apart the cushions left on the benches in the backyard.  Now we have to wait while "they" clean up the mess...BOL.  Us Scotties find our own fun when necessary.  Our feeties are cold and packed with snow bits...so we're drying off in our pen now.  Ahhh....toasty warm laying in the sunlight! :)

What a week!

Hey there!  Wow...what a week it's been around this place.  I have so much to update you on.  Hmm...where to begin?  Well it all started last Sunday really.  "He" was leaving for hockey practice (he's a Coach didn't you know??) and "she" had just let us in from having a grand time in the backyard.  We were told to go upstairs Molly obeyed, I on the other hand didn't want to.  We're Scotties....we have minds of our own....and sometimes I try to dictate what I'll do not what "they" tell me I'll do.  It never ends well.  Anyway, I didn't mean to trip "her"....but....I did.  I got hurt (on the shop vac)...she got hurt...and my leg was a little sore.  On Monday "she" felt bad for me so off to the vet we went.  After some x-rays, turns out....I'm fine.....nothing wrong with this guy.

We left Molly home this time.  "They" thought "why bring 2 dogs??".  Well.........let's just say "they" realized on the drive home that it was her first time EVER being left alone.  Molly has always had me with her...since we were born.  What a mess!  Thankfully she was in our cage but she poo'd everywhere.....then walked in it....smooshed it....got it on some toys.  It was not a good scene.  After running around outside for another bit, it was time for Molly to get a quick bath.  I on the other hand didn't have to....mooo-ooh-ahahaha.

Anyone ever hurt their peeps before?  Share some good stories so that I don't feel like the only Scottie with an attitude.....BOL!

It's A Snow Day!

Hey Guys.....today we got some snow and we just love every minute of it.  We'll play out there until there's little balls of ice stuck to our feet and belly.  Had to come in and thaw for a little while....but don't worry....we were back out there for some more fun.  Hope you all had a great Friday....even though it's Friday the 13th!!!

A Quiet Saturday....

The peeps haven't taken any photos in the past couple of days so we'll show you another shot from Christmas Day.  The outfits have been packed away for now.  I'm sure we'll get new ones next year.  We for sure won't be able to fit into these at the rate we're growing.

Not much of the white stuff is left on the ground....and we've had warmer temperatures here in Ontario.  That doesn't mean we don't have fun in the mud :) :) :)  "They" don't like it because we like to get dirty.  But I'm happy to report that we are getting used to this potty outside deal.  Usually cause there's a treat to be had....BOL.  Happy Saturday fur-ends!

Happy New Year!

Check this stuff out!  It's our first snow and it's fun to play in.  We enjoy digging thru and finding dead plants to eat.  Not overly appetizing but it's interesting.  We hope there's more where this came from.  We'll stay out here forever even though its cold...it's ok...we've got fur.  Angus is the wimp and likes to patiently wait by the door to be let in....I on the other hand would prefer to explore and play :)  Hope everyone is having a good New Year so far.
